The board has declared Patronage will not be distributed for 2011. Each year the board assesses our current financial position, the amount of funds that would be available for distribution and ongoing expenses or upcoming expenses that affect the credit union. Upon review of all factors including the ongoing costs related to our banking systems continued upgrades, it has be decided that patronage would not be distributed. It is important for us to ensure we can bring you the products and services that you have been asking for and which makes these continued up grades important. Thank you for your business E-Statements Now Available Electronic Statements are now available on our internet banking site. This is an environmentally friendly way to receive your banking information each month. Once you log into the internet banking system you will see an e-statement tab on your left hand side. The information on the e-statement is exactly what you receive in the mail currently including your cheque images. If you would like to discontinue receiving a paper statement you can either complete a form in branch or print off the request form from our web site and mail, fax or drop it off at our branch for processing. As a co-operative, the people who use our services - our members are also owners and shareholders. Members have a say in how Me-Dian Credit Union operates. They also share in the profits of the credit union, usually in the form of lower rates on loans and higher rates on deposits than they could ordinarily get at other financial institutions. Me-Dian is responsive to the needs of members, no matter where they live or how they choose to access our services. Serving the Aboriginal Community of Manitoba Members of Me-Dian Credit Union are also members of Manitoba's First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities. Whether in the capital, Winnipeg, or in communities throughout the entire province, north and south, east and west, Me-Dian is designed and operated with the common needs of Manitoba's Aboriginals in mind. The primary objective of Me-Dian Credit Union is to identify and serve the financial needs of Manitoba's Aboriginal population and Aboriginal communities. The member-elected board of directors and employees are mostly Aboriginal, which makes it possible to serve members, recognizing their culture and communicating knowledgably on their everyday and unique needs. We believe that Me-Dian Credit Union plays an important role in improving the self-reliance of Aboriginal individuals, communities and organizations - however, associate members (not of Aboriginal hertiage) are also welcome at Me-Dian Credit Union.
